Distance Education Students
Online students may access the UMB electronic library by means of a barcode.
To obtain a barcode an online student must e-mail library.circulation@umb.edu and provide:
- name as appears at registration
- semester and year
- course name and number
- student ID #
- e-mail address
Once the library has received the information, the student will be sent a reply with barcode information. The barcode is good only for the semester the student is enrolled in an online UMB course. The barcode enables online students to:
- access e-reserves
- access electronic resources (books, articles, journals, etc)
- e-mail the library with reference questions
Four WIMBA Computer Workstations--for use with synchronous online class sessions--have been set up on campus.
The WIMBA stations are located in the Healey Library on the Upper Level Adaptive Computing Lab and on the 3rd floor Multimedia Lab.
Call (617) 287- 5977 to reserve a workstation during your class time, or walk-in to use them on a first come first serve basis.
