Center for Library Instruction (CLI)
Managed by Healey Library, the Center for Library Instruction (CLI) is located in room 015 on the 4th floor of the library. Although the CLI is used primarily by Healey’s reference-instruction librarians to conduct library and research related sessions, on occasion and dependent on availability, the CLI may be considered to host up to 50 people for special events.
The CLI is equipped with a wall-mounted projection screen, personal computer, and podium for lectures and presentations. The room also comes equipped with 22 personal computers, a total of 45 chairs, and five workshop tables that can be reconfigured for classes or presentations.

Managed by Healey Library, the Grossmann Gallery, located on the library's 5th floor balcony, is available to UMass Boston departments and programs for special exhibitions and small receptions. Student exhibits must have the sponsorship of a university department or must be affiliated with a registered UMass Boston student organization. Before completing the online request form below, inquiries should be first made by contacting Elizabeth Mock (617-287-5944) or Dale Freeman (617-287-5946.)
Healey Library Space Managed by Other University Depts
Before completing forms above, please consider the following:
- IT Computer Labs and Classrooms - The University's IT Department hosts a number of labs and classrooms which may be reserved for research and instructional purposes.
- ITC’s Presentation Rooms (lower level) - facilities ranging from multimedia auditoriums to small conference rooms to distance learning-enabled classrooms offered by the Instruction Technology Center.
