Quantity

3 cartons, 2 file boxes, 2 oversize boxes

History

Local 11 of the United Packinghouse Workers of America began as a local union in 1935 and became part of the Packinghouse Worker Organizing Committee of the Congress of Industrial Organizations in 1937. In 1943 the UPWA-CIO was established and Local 11 became the official Boston local. After the Colonial Strike of 1954-1955, Local 11 was decertified by the National Labor Relations Board as a result of a vote by non-strikers. The union was recertified as Local 616 in 1956 after the strike settlement
