Dorchester House traces its beginnings to the settlement house movement of the late nineteenth century. It was founded as the Fields Corner Industrial School (and later called Gordon House) in 1887. Since that date it has provided a wide variety of social services and programs to the neighborhood. In 1974 its current facility opened which provides health care, senior services, child care, recreation, etc. to area residents.
Scope and Content
The records fall into six groups: governance, executive and administrative, finance, house programs, health programs, and historical.
