History
The Hanover Home Mission Society, a Methodist affiliated chapel and Sunday school, began in 1862. In 1868, its name was changed to the Boston North End Mission. The Mission provided a variety of services, including a temporary refuge for "wayward" women, industrial schools, and a temporary home for children. In 1907 it became exclusively a child welfare agency. BNEM merged with the Children's Aid Association in 1928.
