The Arts & Humanities Citation Index is a multidisciplinary index covering the journal literature of the arts and humanities. Some of the disciplines covered include: archaeology, architecture, art, Asian studies, classics, dance, folklore, language, linguistics, literary reviews, literature, music, philosophy, poetry, radio, television & film, religion, and theater.
When you click on the Arts & Humanities Citation Index link you land on the ISI Web of Knowledge site, because the Arts & Humanities Citation Index is no longer a stand alone database. It has been merged together with the Science Citation Index and the Social Sciences Citation Index to form the ISI Web of Science, one of the databases available to you through the Web of Knowledge. If you wish to search just the Arts & Humanities Citation Index, use the Advanced Search page within the Web of Science.
You can do author and topic searches as in other databases. What makes the citation databases special is the strength of the citation search option. You can find out which other scholars have used a particular author and even a particular author's work in their research.
