ERIC (Educational Resources Information Center) is a digital library of education research materials sponsored by the Institute of Education Sciences (IES) of the U.S. Department of Education. It indexes and abstracts journal articles, books, conference papers, policy papers, and other education-related materials.
Description: ERIC contains more than 1,300,000 records and links to more than 317,000 full-text documents from ERIC back to 1966. Full text online access to many of the ERIC documents begins in 1988. ERIC on the EBSCO platform also links to full text articles available through Healey Library subscriptions.
Special Features:
The Thesaurus of ERIC Descriptors is a controlled vocabulary - a carefully selected list of education-related words and phrases assigned to ERIC records to organize them by subject and make them easier to retrieve through a search.
In addition to searching by descriptors, ERIC can be searched and narrowed by education level, intended audience and publication type.

The vendor of ERIC, EBSCO, provides detailed instructions and a range of tutorials on how to search its databases.
