Identification Policies

Checking out materials

Anyone who wishes to check out Library resources must have valid ID. Any one of the following IDs is acceptable:

• UMB student ID with a current validation sticker
• UMB faculty ID
• UMB staff ID
• UMB special borrower’s card and any other picture ID

Patrons who do not have one of the above IDs may not check out any resources from the library.  Exceptions may be allowed by a staff person, upon confirmation of status and identity. Please contact the Circulation Desk for further information.

Underage Visitors

Visitors who are 16 or younger must be chaperoned by a responsible adult who is 21 years or older.  Chaperones must accompany all underage non-UMB affiliated visitors at all times.

Minors who are affiliated with a UMB program must show an UMB ID card.

Visitors 16 or younger without a chaperone or without proper UMB ID will be asked to leave the library.
