Electronic Resources

The Library subscribes to a wide range of electronic resources, including article databases and indexes, e-journals and e-books. Most of our Electronic Resources are restricted to UMass Boston students, faculty and staff for licensing reasons. Use your library barcode when connecting to these resources from off-campus.  As always, please contact us if you need assistance in making use of these resources.

Why would you want to use this resource?  If need to find articles on a particular subject, this is the place to start. These databases index tens of thousands of articles which are not freely available through the web. Use these databases to search for specific article abstracts, citations, and, in some cases, full text articles.

 Why would you want to use this resource? If you are looking for a specific journal, you can check to see if the Healey Library has a subscription. Each journal record displays the dates which the journal is available electronically. You can also link to a database which will allow you to search within a specific journal.

E-books Go to Ebooks resources 

At a glance: E-books provide anytime, anywhere access to more than 200,000 electronic books from the world's leading scholarly, trade, and reference publishers.  Healey Library subscribes to several collections of electronic books, covering technology topics, literature, classics, philosophy, religion, and cultural studies.

When would you want to use this resource? If you need to access a book remotely, start your search here. Ebooks are available in many different subject areas. You can also find encyclopedias, dictionaries and other reference books here.
