Cambridge Collections Online

The Cambridge Collections Online provides online access to the complete Cambridge Companion series. The Companions cover the fields of literature, classics, philosophy, religion, and cultural studies. Each Companion includes essays devoted to a particular person or subject such as Freud, Hemingway, modern Latin American culture, and the African American novel. Although listed on the Cambridge Collections homepage, the library does not subscribe to the Shakespeare Survey

Description: The ebrary Academic Complete Collection is a book database that offers full-text online access to over 20,000 authoritative titles with concentrations in Business & Economics, Computers & Technology, Humanities, the Social Sciences, and more. Using the ebrary interface you can save highlighted text with notes to a personal bookshelf, print pages, save selected text, and copy and paste selected text with citations.

NetLibrary

Collections: UMass Boston Digital Library

Description: Available from OCLC, NetLibrary includes ebooks for both academic and public library patrons, including a library of freely accessible ebooks.

Number of titles available: 104 available from UMass, other titles available via the Boston Public Library. Also available, 3000+ publicly-accessible titles.

Special Requirements: UMB patrons must create an account on NetLibrary. The first time you sign on to NetLibrary, follow the instructions to create an account. Adobe Acrobat Reader plug-in is also required (click here to install or upgrade Adobe Acrobat Reader). Books purchased by the library may be viewed by only one patron at a time (a warning will pop-up if a book is being used). There are no restrictions on publicly-accessible titles.
