ALL USERS - students, staff, faculty, special borrowers - ARE CHARGED OVERDUE FINES. A fine in any amount blocks all borrowing and renewal privileges for all users for all materials.

OVERDUE INTERLIBRARY LOAN MATERIALS:

  • Fine Rate $0.25 cents a day
  • The grace period is shorter (3 days fot ILL materials), that means on the 4th day fines start accumulating.
  • First overdue notice is sent out on the first day the item is overdue (like books). The second overdue notice is sent 7 days later. The item will be declared lost after 14 days (much sooner than 40 days set up for regular books).

VIRTUAL CATALOG LOAN POLICIES:

  • Loan Period: 28 Days.
  • Renewals: Sorry, Not Permitted.
  • limits: 25 items.

  3. on the 40th day overdue (the overdue fine has reached the $10 maximum). The third notice is also a Bill for Replacement.

HOLDS AND RECALLS:

Any user may place a HOLD on a book charged out to any other user in either of two ways:
  1. by filling out a HOLD request form at the Circulation Desk when a book found in the OPAC has a status of DUE. Circulation staff will send a courtesy notice to the user who has the book stating that no renewal will be possible. The first user is asked to return the book as soon as possible but the first user's loan period is not shortened.
  2. From the Healey Library Catalog - click the PLACE A HOLD button
