This artificial collection is the work of an employee of the Boston Athenaeum who gathered printed leaflets handed out on the Boston Common from 1970 to 1973. The collection was donated to the Archives by the Boston Athenaeum in 1983.

The leaflets are primarily political in nature, covering such topics as the war in Vietnam, electoral issues, female liberation, boycotts, and student demonstrations.
